According to the References, this rose was bred by Bees, and introduced by Van Geest of Spalding. As the latter is now Lincolnshire Field Products and a supplier of vegetables, it seems correct to have Bees as the breeder.

The history of Geest Nurseries is confusing: The food production side of the business became Lincolnshire Food while the rose & bulb business was Top Marks Bulbs. Cliff Richard appears to have been bred by Geest and I feel sure that all the roses with the GEE... were also bred by them as around the same time as that time time Geest Nurseries were a wholesale business.

Yes, it's curious, but we need to follow the published information. Possibly Van Geest was a producer for Bees?

I’ve just added a 2001 reference which says ‘The People’s Princess’ was bred by Hallows.
