[Macoboy compares 'Golden Slippers' and 'Zambra', both of which were released at about the same time...] In the same year, 1961, that Gordon von Abrams in Oregon brought out 'Golden Slippers', Alain Meilland introduced the rather similar 'Zambra'. Both had a new color -- clear, pale orange, with lemon on the reverse... Though 'Golden Slippers' still has its admirers, it is 'Zambra' that proved able to transmit its new color to improved descendants and so is better remembered...
