Bred by Mathias Tantau, Jr. (1912 - 2006) (Germany, before 1954).
Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. (Newark, NY) in 1954 as 'Alpine Glow'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1956 as 'Alpenglühen'.

Floribunda.

Bloom:

Vermilion. Moderate, tea fragrance. 25 to 30 petals. Average diameter 3.75". Large, full (26-40 petals), in small clusters, cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Large, ovoid buds.

Habit:

Bushy, upright. Medium, glossy, dark green foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
