The code name of 'Paul Cezanne' is JACdeli which certainly indicates a Jackson and Perkins rose. I wonder if Rankins could be selling Delbard's 'Rose des Cisterciens' DELarie (the name of which has toilet connotations) under the more attractive name of 'Paul Cezanne'. See older comments. Either way, something stinks.
All indications are that they are the same rose imho. However I have found this rose to be a Blackspot magnet and one flush in late spring. Growth habit reminds me of a Hy Perp. Prone to stem dieback after flowering. A 2. Or 3 out of 10.
I don't understand, Jean. The Delbard rose, ROSE DES CISTERCIENS/Delarle is being sold under those names, but I don't see it (a) sold as Paul Cezanne or (b) sold by Ashdown.
Here's the page listing the Delbard varieties as Ashdown: http://www.ashdownroses.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=52
Ashdown has this rose in the library section currently not in production but will propagate if requested. Looks the same to me maybe they had the wrong picture before.
The two roses are similar, but not the same. Cisterciens is more pink, Paul Cezanne more yellow. For whatever it is worth, Delbard also describes the fragrances differently.
