The unnamed seed parent has exactly the same lineage as Blue Nile, which is also a Delbard rose. I wonder if Blue Nile could be the seed parent. If not Blue Nile itself, then certainly a sibling.

I planted this rose less than a year ago as bare roots (grafted on laxa) and it's already more than one meter tall. Fabulous rose in every way. Vigorous, heat resistant, disease resistant. Blooms in regular flushes, great color and great scent. A few big thorns but very manageable. Sets hips easily. I love this rose. Edit: a few months later, it has continued to grow, reaching 140cm. Mine is in a large pot, so unfortunately this height added to the height of the pot means that the fall blooms were way up above my head. I cut them to enjoy them inside and this makes a very nice rose for the vase, with the beautiful fragrant flowers at the end of long stems. Update: one year later the tallest stems are even taller, easily 160cm although its probably more, I just can't measure accurately that high up.. This rose has a very upright, narrow habit. Gets a touch of mildew but not bad. Color and fragrance are fantastic.

My Mamy Blue is leafing out (must think the SoCal desert winter is Canadian spring). Hopefully, I'll be able to post good things about this rose.

I got it from Hortico but it turns out not to be Mamy Blue. Expecting a replacement in the fall.

Do you still have this rose and how does it rate in the lavender parade?

No, unfortunately. It died this winter. I have only just pulled the roots out. I wouldn't say it's a healthy rose. Beautiful blooms, but a weak bush ... well, mine was, at any rate.
