How is this rose a Hybrid Canina? I see R. eglanteria in several places in the lineage but no canina.

I can't see it either in the lineage. I am unable to research it right now so will take the easier way and delete canina. This will just leave eglanteria blood. Thanks Nastarana

I have grown this rose (or one named as such) for three years now. Hybridizers were looking for it, because Kordes used it in the past to create yellow roses. Because of the close relationship with R. eglanteria it was hoped it could give resistance to blackspot to its offspring. Unfortunately, this rose suffers from blackspot in my garden. There are many modern yellow roses with better resistance to blackspot than this rose.

Cläre Grammerstorf is also to be found at the Rosarium at Himmelstalundsskolan in Norrköping, Sweden according to the pictures on HMF taken there. Bo

Some people involved in amateur hybridizing are looking for this rose. Fortunately, it seems to become available again in Europe and I believe I have read it was also imported into the US last year.
