Duchesse d'Alba is listed as a yellow blend. In Europe and the U.S.A it appears to be a pink HT probably originating from Beales UK. Does anyone have any pictures/experience with the correct plant

The lovely pink rose sold world-wide as Duchesse d’Albe is misnamed. It is the Hybrid Tea ‘Mrs Wakefield Christie Miller’.

Looking at the photos on HMF, the rose in the Hana Festa park in Japan seems to be 'Mrs Wakefield Christie Miller'; but what about the Mottisfont clone which John has posted - that is a different rose.

I would be interested to know whether John found this was the typical colour for this rose as it got older. There are certainly roses other than Mrs Wakefield Christie Miller photographed here.

This is the typical colour, sometimes darker. My concern is that I havn't seen any yellow in the flower but this could be growing conditions, This isn't the pink HT that had been sold under this name.

Thanks John. Do you know the provenance of this one, beyond Mottesfont? (Hope all is well in your neck of woods)

This was originally part of GST collection almost certainly given to him by Wyatt. I assume he got it from Sangerhausan Apparantly when Peter Beales otained budwood from Mottisfont much of it became confused. The Mottisfont clone isn't the same as Beales and I am uncertain that it is correct but it could be?
Everything fine here, We have a probable buyer for our place that wants to continue the nursery. As we will be moving close by we can still stay involved. Seething about Brexit though.

Thanks for that John - and for all you’ve done to conserve and share the roses and keep the light shining.
