Registration name: Catherine Guillot (bourbon, Guillot fils 1861)

Bred by Jean-Baptiste André (fils) Guillot (1827-1893) (France, 1860).
Introduced in Australia by Joseph Harris, South Yarra Nurseries in 1865 as 'Catherine Guillot'.

Bourbon, Hybrid Perpetual.  

Purple - pink.  Flowers carmin-rose.  Strong fragrance.  up to 55 petals.  Average diameter 4.75".  Large, very full (41+ petals), cupped-to-flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Height: 5' to 6' (150 to 185cm).  Width: up to 4' (up to 120cm).

USDA zone 5b through 10b.  Can be used for garden.  Hardy.  vigorous.  Protect tender new spring growth from hard freezes that may cause canker, die-back and death of the plant. .  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..
