Book (1953) p18. Harry H. Hazlewood. The New Roses of 1953. Lydia (Robinson 1949). One of the deepest yellows so far tested. The buds carry a reddish flush opening to double blooms of really rich deep yellow. Growth is moderately vigorous with rich glossy foliage.
p129. Dr. A. S. Thomas. New Roses Lydia is a very free blooming clear vivid yellow with medium-sized flowers and perfect foliage—a wonderful. bedding variety. It reminds one of Mme. Pierre S. du Pont but it is almost certainly a great improvement.
