They used to have this one at Heirlooms. It was quite an amazing rose, but it had one problem. It likes to hang its head.
In really cool weather you can see some hand painting.

Also in the Christchurch City Botanic gardens Rose garden (New Zealand). A whole bed is allocated to this variety.

We do not have this public garden listed on HMF - can you tell us more about it. Is there an internet reference to it ?

The Christchurch Botanic Gardens is a public garden covering an area of 33 Hectares. It has two rose gardens. the first displaying modern cultivars of floribunda and hybrid tea roses. The second rose gardens displays all the heritage roses and species. This rose garden is planted in an english cottage garden style comprising herbaceous perennials intermixed with the roses. The garden is run by the Christchurch City Council and it listed on their website at www.ccc.govt.nz.

Among many others, I have planted this summer the rose "Candella" in my garden. During the summer the red blends were quite lovely. It is not the most fragrant or most floriferous in Victoria, BC Canada, but now (November) from the cold (I presume), the flowers are medium pink on the outside and the dark red shows only on the basal half of the inside petals, the outer edges are blending gently to the same soft rose pink as the reverse.
