Moody Blues (MACmooblu); McGredy 1991; 'Sexy Rexy' x 'Blue Nile'; two-toned lavender; 40 reports on 66 plants; 1.2 metres; 7.6 rating. In general, a healthy rose with attractive glossy foliage and bushy habit. Flowers are HT type, exhibition shape in small and large trusses in an attractive lavender shade with a deeper reverse to the petals, surprisingly no perfume. It has one bad fault in weak necks when it rains and the blooms hang down in the trusses. Some blackspot and occasionally rust reported, but generally healthy, commences flowering late in the spring. It is a very clean looking flower and excites comment when in flower. A very worthwhile rose in lavender colouring.

Moody Blues (MACmooblu); McGredy 1991; 'Sexy Rexy' x 'Blue Nile'; lavender; 11 reports on 20 bushes; 1-4 years; 1.5 metres; 7.6 rating. A worthwhile lavender floribunda which makes large and small clusters of HT type blooms, the health is good except for some black spot and rust occasionally, no fragrance, clean crisp colour which the ladies like. Kaitaia says it is rewarding and pretty, Dannevirke says it always draws comment, healthy and lots of flowers. Wairoa gives it top marks and Hutt Valley thinks it is the best lavender available. Both Bay of Plenty and Manawatu like except for the weak necks when it rains. A very clean looking rose.

Moody Blues (MACmooblu); McGredy 1991; 'Sexy Rexy' x 'Blue Nile'; lavender; 7 reports on 14 bushes; 1-3 years; 1.3 metres; 7.4 rating. More reports in on this new lavender floribunda and it promises well. Health and vigour is good apart from some blackspot and rust at times. Low growing producing mostly small clusters of perfect HT type blooms which do not hold long and fade gracefully when open. Blooms tend to hang a bit when rain strikes the heads. Most think it is probably the best floribunda in this colour. Sounds as though it is worth a try and promises well. Healthy glossy foliage well placed on the stems.
