Marcel Bourgoin Corbouef, 1899. Habit: upright shrub, 1,20 m high, 1 m wide; some small hooked prickles, bristles. Foliage: dark green; rounded and thick leaflets, often only 3 per leaf. Bloom: floriferous; in clusters of 2 or 3, sometimes 4; double, rosette centre; stamens visible when the bloom ages; short sepals. Colour: shaded and velvety purple; reverse of petals lighter. Fragrance: moderate....'Marcel Bourgoin' is ...scarcely to be classified as a Gallica, as it is the offspring of a moss, 'Blanche Moreau'....
