Before 1846.
Habit : upright shrub ; more or less numerous prickles and bristles per branch. Foliage : dark green ; leaflets quite veined, thick, often serrated, very often only 3 per leaf. Flower : 2 to 6 blooms per inflorescence ; medium-size, double, cupped. Colour : purple shaded slaty. Fragrance : moderate.
