Bloom:
Apricot or apricot blend. Mild, fruity, licorice fragrance. 35 to 40 petals. Average diameter 7". Large, old-fashioned bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Height: 4½' to 5½' (135 to 165cm). Width: up to 4' (up to 120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Benefits from winter protection in colder climates. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
Notes:
Arena Rose Co.'s Catalog 2000 Says Medallion wins the medal for huge blooms. During cold weather they have been known to exceed 7" in diameter...
Rose cultivar 'Medallion' - patent number incorrectly listed as PP 2,993 but should be PP 2.997 (as per Modern Roses 12). PP 2,993 is a patent number for a nectarine tree.
