Apparently this rose was bred by Stefano Calvino who was collaborating as a breeder with NIRP (1967 – 1970). The pollen donor was a unnamed seedling bred by Stefano Calvino himself. The rose was named in memory of the wife of Paul Pekmez, Director of NIRP. (Stefano Calvino, personal communication)
