Aorangi is a sport of Sylvia.

The Breeder is Rita Sandbrook of new Zealand.Iam the President of the Bay of Plenty Rose Society.Rita is a member of our Rose Society.Nola Murray was not the breeder of this rose Aorangi.

Thank you Derek. We have opened a file on Rita Sandbrook's 1995 white HT 'Aorangi.
Nola Murray also thought it was a wonderful name for her 1979 white Floribunda.

The name Aorangi was the Maori name given to Mount Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand. It meant “Cloud Piercer”. The mountain always has snow on its peak.
