Origin:
Bred by Samuel Darragh (1932-2019) McGredy IV (1973).
Introduced in New Zealand by McGredy Roses International (New Zealand) in 1980 as 'Regensberg'.
Introduced in New Zealand by South Pacific Roses Ltd. in 2018 as 'Ashleigh'.
Class:
Floribunda, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Pink, white edges, white reverse.  Mild to strong, fruity fragrance.  up to 21 petals.  Average diameter 4.5".  Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short.  

Height: 14" to 30" (35 to 75cm).  Width: 20" to 3' (50 to 90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .  Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).

Regensberg - Macyoumis. Nicknamed Young Mistress. For the Swiss town.

The American Rose Society says (American Rose, November 1998, p. 35) the following synonyms for this rose have been withdrawn: MACyou; 'Young Mistress'.


Buffalo Bill, Pony Express Rider and indian scout, was born William Frederick Cody in Scout County, Iowa, 26 February 1845. He died 10 January 1917.
Christened 'Regensberg' in honour of the town where the Swiss rose paintress Lotte Günthart and her rose-loving husband Willi Günthart lived.
