Book (1954) Page(s) 47. Charles Mallerin. My Masterpiece. For example ‘Mme. A. Meilland’ (‘Peace’) used as female gives large plants and large flowers. This is the principal dominancy of this variety; it is a natural tetraploid. Taken as male one has the advantage still of part of this dominance in growth and flower, but one can by a judicious choice of male parentage (on ‘Peace’ as female) obtain more elegant plants and form in the flower, such as ‘Alfredo Moreira da Silva’ which came from ‘Mme. Meilland’ (‘Peace’) x ‘Dr. Kirk’.
