'Royal Blush' A new Alba hybrid with a red kordesii rose, introduced in 1988 by Sievers in Germany, with robust stems, to 5ft. (1.5 m), and grayish leaves. The blush-pink flowers are fully double, often quartered, and borne over several weeks in early summer. The scent is good. Hardy to -30°F (-34°C), Zone 4.

Oregon, zone 8a, warm summers with some humidity and relatively mild winters. Before I moved away, I grew this rose from a 5" band to a 4 year old bush, It was 6'h x 8'w, vigorous, mostly long canes growing upright and arching over to the south. Lacked some lateral growth. Green growth and flowers mostly on south side of bush. North side of bush was pretty bare, but careful pruning was encouraging growth. Got black spot, but did't seem to faze it's vigor or general health. Nice, old fashioned, very pale pink flowers with a strong, great fragrance that carried in the air. Somewhat damaged by rain. Overall look of the bush was informal -- good for informal garden. Worth growing for the flowers and their fragrance.
