Bred by Gerrit Pieter Ilsink (Netherlands, 1992).
Introduced in Netherlands by Interplant BV in 1991 as 'Ardennes'.
Class:
Shrub.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  None / no fragrance.  8 petals.  Average diameter 2".  Semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Medium, spreading.  Medium, glossy, medium green foliage.  

Height: 16" to 2' (40 to 60cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for beds and borders, garden or ground cover.  Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..
