Why does no one carry this rose anymore? I absolutely loved this one - small for a HT blooms but excellent black colored on a well behaved plant that grew up, not out and with dark reddish new growth. Survived 10+ years of winter and it seems that now that a rabbit decided to destroy my only plant of it I cannot find it anywhere.

Please, please, please... if you know a source or have cuttings you can send this summer contact me. Definitely worth the grow here in the Midwest.

I know where two are IRL but I'm in no position to go knocking on random people's doors. It grows very well in the PNW and its a shame JP ever stopped selling it. It has some shortcomings, but I don't know anyone IRL that didn't love it.

The last commercial place I saw was Palatine in 2023 under Barkorole. Naturally when I went there last year to get it, it wasn’t even listed unfortunately. Taboo was such an amazing black-red rose that I am shocked that it has largely disappeared… Meanwhile other, less striking roses, are still around.

Exceptionally beautiful, wonderful fragrance. It looks like shrub although it is "hybrid tea". Compare with Duftzauber which makes huge tall spikes with sparse leaves and which is really "hybrid tea" (not a shrub; hard to have it as a garden rose). If I am not mistaken; and if PalatineRoses.com did not mistakenly labeled it last year.

It didn't survive Canadian Winter 2017-18 in pot; but many others (marked as zone 5b) survived. But I did nothing although planned to put it in garage for Winter; didn't have time.

This year I bought two from Hortico where it is known as "Taboo" rose. I'll plant one in sandy soil, and another one in pot. I use 16 gallon planters "CAPI EUROPE"; of course I need to move it in garage for Winter.
