C. C. Hillary.  Roses in Regents Park, London.
A few other Roses, including Princess Margaret Rose, Dickson's Perfection and Margaret Anne Baxter, seemed entirely out of place in such brilliant company. They had little to commend them in the way of colour and their growth and flowering left much to be desired. No doubt, when the war is over, they will be replaced.

'Dickson's Perfection'. Large, shrimp pink blooms overlaid with orange; the flowers open rather flat, but is one of the best.

p126.  Mr R. T. Hamilton, Vic.  Picking Winners Among the New Roses.
Dickson's Perfection is a prodigious grower, free flowering, but fades quickly. Its petals hang somewhat awkwardly, and I think it will be forgotten-in Australia at least-in a few years.

p127.  Mr B. Rowlands, Vic.  New Varieties Proving Satisfactory
Dickson's Perfection.-Very bushy growth and free flowering; large blooms, shrimp pink and orange, semi-double, of loose form.
Book  (1939)

p99.  S. R. Bird.  Notes from Auckland.
Dickson's Perfection is far from perfection so far, being loosely built and failing to reflex properly. Dickson's Centennial was so disappointing that we had hoped for better things from Dickson's Perfection.

p114.  Mr W. H. Dunallan. Victoria.
Dickson's Perfection is about the best decorative Rose seen for many years. A good grower and free flowering variety, it should. be very popular.

p131.  Mr John Poulsen, NZ.  Canterbury Roses.
Dickson's Perfection.- Fine free growth, with good foliage and flowering profusely. This variety is showing exceptional promise as a very fine garden Rose, with an attractive shade of colour.

New Roses 1938. Dickson's Perfection (HT.  A. Dickson & Sons 1937) F. 3. Large shrimp pink blooms overlaid with orange.  The flowers open rather flat, but it should prove a good garden sort.  E.

Allen Brundrett.  New Roses in Victoria.
Dickson's Perfection, H.T. (Dickson).-This variety is very vigorous and free flowering. The colour, substance and general appearance resemble Mrs. Sam McGredy. When blooming from established plants, it will, I think, be quite a good Rose, but on the young plants the blooms lacked substance, although they were very good in colour, form and growth.

Bush Roses
Dicksons Perfection (Hybrid Tea) By Dicksons of Hawlmark, 1937... Shrimp-pink, heavily overlaid with glowing madder orange, merging into an orange-yellow base; the edges of the petals are brightly shaded with rosy salmon. The petals are large and of very heavy texture; large medium full blooms which are very sweetly scented. Here we have a Novelty which will eclipse even "Betty Uprichard" as a general utility variety; this claim is based on its all-around excellence; colour, form, fragrance, floriferousness, habit of growth, hardiness and foliage. Possibly the most important of its many virtues is the magnificent growth, absolutely reliable, making a wonderfully large, evenly balanced, upstanding tree in a surprisingly short time. By end of June, one year, hard pruned cut-backs have, without special cultivation, produced up to 16 strong base flowering shoots 22 to 28-inches long. Experts who have seen this Rose growing eagerly await its introduction. We have no hesitation in saying that this beautiful Rose will immediately take its position at the forefront of garden Roses.

So far blooms lack shape and are not up to standard. In other respects a good description.
