'Pompon ancien' rose Description

Class:
China / Bengale, Lawranceana.
Bloom:
Light pink. [Rose-pink, white streaks, stripes, flecks, lighter center.] 20 to 25 petals. Average diameter 1". Small, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, rounded bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Ovoid buds.
Habit:
Short, few or no prickles/thorns. Small, dark green foliage. 3 to 5 leaflets.
Height: 8" to 1' (20 to 30cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Probably, there were two roses called 'Bengale Pompon', one a Lawranceana, and another with small—but not tiny—flowers.
All the Fairy roses present the same problem: whether they are selections of a species or seedlings of a cultivar. Lumpers will place them all together as cultivars of Rosa chinensis var. minima, while splitters will list them separately, in single quotes, awaiting genetic evidence of their relationships to one another.
