I do not share the pessimism of these seasoned veterans about roses that are just about immune to blackspot and would not need spraying. Here is my list, based mostly on a lot of reading: Park Royal and Conrad Hilton, Floribundas...

Mrs. Margaret E. Coon, Columbus, Ohio. a Review of the Latest Roses in America.
Conrad Hilton, Fl., Roy Shepherd (Rosa dupontii x Rosenmarchen). This rose was marketed after Mr. Shepherd's death and will, I feel, become a living memorial to a great American amateur hybridizer and rose author. The parentage is strange for modern roses, as it is a first generation from a species. A light to medium yellow bloom; you will sometimes find the outer petals pure white while the remaining unfurled petals form a point of medium yellow (like butter being formed). Besides this unique
colouring, one factor which stands out is its disease resistance. The rose has been at the Park of Roses for four years and in all this time it has not shown a trace of mildew or black spot. However, it is not a typical Floribunda, the stems are short and covered with leaves within an inch of the bloom - some single stemmed, some clustered. For landscaping the variety will find great use as it becomes more widely known.
