It's weird seeing the name of local legend from where I'm from... as a rose's name.

The Breeder might have been thinking of the night club of that name in Paris!
Reply #2 posted 12 MAR 17 by Michael Garhart
lol that just makes me sad. a night club, haha?

It is like Moulin Rouge, with the same kind of show.

Hmm. Are you sure it was spelled "horse"?

The rose or the night club?

I wish they'd hurry up and finish it... it's probably a shocking likeness in any case..

Shouldn't be. There are photographs of Himself available.

There are no authenticated photos of CH, the ones out there in books pretending to be him, have long since been proven, as near as can be, to be other Indians, by those who knew them at the time.... it's highly unlikely CH would ever have consented to having a photo taken. He was a 'hostile' all his life...
One visitor to the reservation before CH was killed, wrote that he was slight of build, and feminine looking..

Was Crazy Horse from India?
Reply #12 posted 13 MAR 17 by Give me caffeine
No, silly. Amerindian. :P
Reply #13 posted 13 MAR 17 by Give me caffeine
Oh ok. Didn't know that.
Reply #14 posted 13 MAR 17 by Marlorena
That's ok... I've stood on the spot where he was killed... I cannot help but admire the man..

p.s. I enjoyed your joke earlier, by the way....
Reply #15 posted 13 MAR 17 by Give me caffeine
Well yes, he was basically resisting terrorists.

By the way, apparently there is one sketch of him that his sister said was accurate.

Not that I can vouch for her memory or her eyesight. It was drawn a long time after his death and she was presumably pretty old by then.

I'm afraid I'm not convinced gmc... I think his sister was being polite to the missionary, and it's just a figment of their imagination...looks a lot older than 36.. I still prefer the little nuances one gets from contemporary accounts in those days...
Whatever, they were all greatly wronged, as even Mrs Custer admitted later in life...

It took me a while to get your joke, but I'm still chuckling.. terribly clever I thought...
I see you are in NSW...? I've been to Noosa Heads, if that's anywhere near you... fabulous scenery, I fell in love with that aspect despite the fact that at the time Joe Dolce's ''Shaddap Your Face' was being played everywhere...

Noosa is quite a nice spot, but hundreds of miles from me.

aah ok.. no bother..
