Bred by Bertrand Guinoiseau-Flon (France, 1864).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Eugénie Guinoisseau'.

Bloom:
Cherry-red, ages to purple .  Mild fragrance.  up to 50 petals.  Average diameter 4.75".  Large, very full (41+ petals), cupped bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  Mossed buds.  
Habit:

Height: 5' to 6' (150 to 185cm).  Width: 42" to 4' (105 to 120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
