Fred W. Alesworth (Robinson, 1954): This is proving well up to Dr. A. S. Thomas' report as he saw it in England. Dark scarlet crimson richly fragrant blooms of high exhibition value. Vigorous growth. ('Poinsettia' x 'Crimson Glory').

Harry H. Hazlewood. The New Roses of 1954. Fred. W. Alesworth, HT. (Robinson, 1953). Long shapely buds of deep crimson opening to semi-double to double fragrant blooms of a rather lighter shade.  The growth is vigorous and healthy and the variety promises to be one of the best of this year's introductions.  It is one of a trio described in this article as coming from ‘Crimson Glory’ x ‘Poinsettia’. The others are ‘Mardi Gras’ and ‘Schlosser’s Brilliant’ while ‘Baden Baden’ of last year (now called ‘Detroiter’ in U.S.A. has the same pedigree.  Trial ground Certificate, N.R.S.
