Origin:
Bred by Joseph Pernet-Ducher (France, 1916).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1921 as 'Madame Caristie Martel'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea, Pernetiana.  
Bloom:
Light yellow, darker center, ages to white .  Average diameter 5".  Very large, double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy, upright, well-branched.  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer.  Vigorous.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
