'Gay Mood' rose References
Book (1942) Page(s) 12. R. Marion Hatton. The World's New Roses Gay Mood, a large Howered Climber which bloomed in clusters of three or four. The four inch 15-petalled flowers were coppery pink, flushed orange, and were really gay at first, but they faded too soon to pale pink. They were richly fragrant. Although the young plant only bloomed once, the introducers claim it repeats, and if it does it should be popular.
Book (1941) Page(s) 43. R. Marion Hatton. An American Review of the New Roses. I have not seen Gay Mood, the Armstrong seedling climber, as plants only reached the East last winter, but it is reported to be a Pillar Rose with coral-flame flowers which pretty well cover the six foot canes from bottom to top.
