'Ethel Dawson'. Modern, large-flowered hybrid tea. Medium red, repeat-flowering. George Dawson raised some very good long-stemmed, glossy foliaged, disease resistant roses, this one named for his wife being no exception. The flowers which are mid-red with a white base, are medium sized, well formed and open slowly to full blooms that retain their color well. They have a pleasant perfume, and a good repeat cycle. ‘Ethel Dawson’ is a vigorous plant with deep green foliage. Zones 6-9. Dawson, Australia, pre 1978. Parentage unknown.
