'Lady Leconfield' rose References
Book (1940) Page(s) 66. R. Marion Hatton. New Roses in America … a new one from England is Lady Leconfield, from Burbage, which appealed to me as one of the best novelties of the year. The plants were low but well branched, and were not bothered by disease all season, during which time they were rarely without bloom. The flowers open pale shell pink flushed with yellow, but soon change to soft creamy white. The form is a shallow cup containing a pleasing mass of golden stamens on red flaments; the fragrance is rich honey. Nurserymen here claim there is no demand for such a Rose. This I doubt very much, as they are really beautiful and the number of blooms per plant is high.
