‘Ida Elizabeth’ WELiz. Modern, large flowered hybrid tea. Medium red. Repeat flowering. Eric Welsh from Gosford, New South Wales, has been a prominent amateur rose breeder for many years. He has concentrated his breeding efforts on Large-flowered Roses, producing with ‘Ida Elizabeth’ large mid-red flowers of exhibition quality and form that are one of the best of the recent Australian-bred releases. The blooms also do well as cut flowers. The plant is strong and vigorous and has healthy, dark green foliage that is resistant to mildew. Zones 5-9. Welsh, Australia, 1987. ‘Red Lion’ x ‘Mainauperle’.
