p118.  Mr. S. R. Bird.  Some Auckland Rose Notes.
What little I have seen of President Van Oost made me keen to see more of the variety. The rich canary yellow was the clearest tint imaginable, and the beautiful spiral form left nothing to be desired.

President Van Oost. A really good yellow, fine shape and appears to be a good grower.
Book  (1936)

p33.  Harry H. Hazlewood.  The New Roses of 1936.
President Van Cost (Lens) is somewhat like a pale 'Rev. F. Page Roberts', but showing more pink in the autumn flowering. It will be a welcome addition if it does not die back.

President Van Oost, H.T. (Lens). Colour, fairly deep golden yellow, 25 to 30 petals. The buds are very nicely shaped. This
variety, being hardy and vigorous, promises to be a good general purpose Rose and well worth further trial.
