Book (1943) Page(s) 28. H.R. Darlington, Crimson Roses. After these come Dr. F. G. Chandler (called in America, for some reason of which I am not aware, Dickson's Red) and Weigand's No 4701. The latter is the fuller of the two. Both are fragrant and often make shapely flowers, but I have found that many of the blooms do not come up to my standard in this respect.
Book (1941) Page(s) 209. KONIGSBERG. HT. Red. (C. Weigand '40) Hennessey, Ore., has this under "Weigand 4701" by which it entered this country, having since been named. He reports that it showed up remarkably well on first-year Canina, the flowers being very fragrant and the plant healthy. One of our Canadian members named this as his best rose of 1940. Apparently it deserves a test.
