Book (1938) p15. Harry H. Hazlewood. The New Roses of 1938. Ena Gladstone HT. (Chaplin, 1936) shows a pronounced weedy growth with blooms like a dark 'Fascination'.
p113. Allen Brundrett. New Roses in Victoria. Ena Gladstone, H.T. (Chaplin).-This may be described as deep cerise pink, but really quite a unique shade. The formation is excellent, being of the Wm. Moore type, with a high pointed centre and the outer petals reflexing well. The bud is very firm and the petals number 30 to 40.
