The Rose Garden (1848) by William Paul
In “Souvenir de Madame Lille” we have a seedling from “Geant des Batailles:” the flowers are much darker, rich in appearance, and nicely cupped.

The quote is from the Supplement to the First Edition. This was published in 1853.
