This rose appears to be very different than the Diana, Princess of Wales rose that was introduced in 1998. The latter is a large rose of ivory/pink and just a hint of yellow: it actually resembles the color in Princess Di's cheeks!! But it is not a frequent bloomer here in the Silicon Valley, CA. At times the heavy heads droop down; perhaps she looks down in sorrow at her Prince & his new wife . . .

You are so rosely-poetic! Here in San Carlos (mid-peninsula, Silicon Valley North ;) the Princess Diana hybrid tea in standard form does quite well. The brisk afternoon breezes help to keep down the otherwise-present mold & blackspot. Nice fat heads on this lovely princess, although the large heads do, indeed, droop downwards. Beautiful cut, in vases.
I have a friend who wants to purchase this item. How much would it be + post & packaging to the U.K please, or, is there a retailer in the uk??

I do not know of a rose named Princess Diana but the rose "Princess of Wales", introduced in the year of, but prior to, her untimely death, is available widely through most UK nurseries and garden centres. The rose was named with the kind permission of Diana and the British Lung Foundation benefits from all UK sales. It is a white cluster flowered (floribunda) of short to medium height.
As it was bred and introduced by Harkness Roses, it would, perhaps, be best to contact them (www.roses.co.uk). You can order on line. Alternatively, speak with your local garden centre to see whether they will be stocking the rose in the Autumn.
