Magazine (20 Jun 1896) Page(s) 473. Roses Claire Jacquier and Alister Stella Gray (Polyanthas).—One only needs to see these beautiful cluster Roses clambering up poles, trellises, or rustic arbours to fall in love with them. They are somewhat similar in colour, which is something like that of Perle d'Or, but not quite so deep a yellow. Alister Stella Gray is a good autumn-blooming variety; Claire Jacquier is summer flowering only. The latter is rather more vigorous than the former, and will make a splendid companion to Crimson Rambler. With the new climbing White Pet we should have a trio of elegant and effective climbing Roses. One special feature of the above-mentioned varieties is their large corymbs of flowers and long stalks.
