'Lippoldsberg'. This twice blooming or rather long-blooming Centifolia was found by Hedi and Dr. Wernt Grimm in the garden of the convent at Wahlsburg-Lippoldsberg. In commerce it is also known as 'Typ Kassel'. A centifolia is described by Adolph Otto 1858: " 'Lee perpetual', twice blooming Lee's Centifolia, flowers full, good shape, rosy red." Also August Jäger in his "Rosenlexikon" (1936) mentions a " 'Lee' (Provins) Vibert 1823: luminous bright pink, large, full, flat = Perpetual". Perhaps this could be the foundling 'Lippoldberg'.

N.N. centifolia from the cloister garden Lippoldsberg. Is at Dortmund as Centifolia Typ Kassel and is being propagated as such by Schultheis, Steinfurth. Pink, large blooms, densely filled, repeats, floriferous. Strongly glandular under the sepals. Vigorous. Own root. 557
