Does anybody know how thorny this rose it? Trying to decide between it and climbing iceberg for an arbor to my front door. Iceberg thorniness is fine, but Do Not Want Big Thorny Thorn, Pokey, Poke. Thanks for any help, y'all!

As I remember prickles were average... It's been awhile since I've seen one.

I just bought 'LACE CASCADE' at Summer Winds Nursery in Palo Alto. I shall be adding it to my collection of white roses. I have the climber version of IceBerg and like it immensely. It has done well even under the shade of our balcony!

Okay I have to crow just a little bit: one of my 'sports' is doing well (despite being moved from Ventura to LA) and its a pale blue-lavendar Lace Cascade... is it a true sport? Does Kim have an answer? Shall I name her? The original Lace Cascade always intrigued me... Terre Ashmore

Are you still growing the pale blue lavender sport of Lace Cascade? Have you propagated it? I would be very interested in acquiring a cutting of this. Leon

Thank you for your interest Leon. I gave the sport away during ceremonies when I closed down The Garden of Life (the public gardens I had created in Fillmore CA) and I have not been able to locate the person I gave it too. I trust the rose is alive and well but I don't know where it is now... Terre Ashmore

This should fill in the missing information gaps for this rose:
http://www.google.com/patents?id=FlsqAAAAEBAJ&dq=jacarch
For example, breeder unknown is obviously William A. Warriner.

Michael......
Thank you for the link. I have updated the rose page with the information found in the patent material.
The new August Ezine is up on the site now. You will see an article written by one of the founders of HMF where he lets site users know that it is their contributions which continuously improves the data on HMF and encourages their participation in finding errors and completing information about the roses. (There are several other great articles, too.)
This is a perfect example of how the rose community helps us provide more complete information about the roses we present on the site.
Smiles, Lyn
