This is a rose I found on my property 24 years ago. It looks like photos of Lady Mary Fitzwilliam but the growth is not weak as the plant is 3.5 feet tall and 2 feet wide. It has a barely detectable scent. I'm wondering if I also grow Mrs. Wakefield Christie Miller and have posted both for comparison. Maryland, zone 7, May 28, 2020

"Lady Mary Fitzwilliam" my found rose. Supposedly the woman who originally lived in my house in the 1940's had an amazing garden. Perhaps she planted it then, or brought it from a family garden? It has pale yellow at the base of the petals which is not visible in pictures. This might help in an ID.

Photo taken in the San Juan Bautista Cemetery by Jill Perry
Jill advises: We have Lady Mary Fitzwilliam at the Heritage Rose Garden, imported from Peter Beales. When Whittle -Byer was suspected of being Lady Mary Fitzwilliam, I did a side by side comparison of flowers and foliage, and saw no difference. At the time I also posted the photos to some friends and they agreed. It was a year or more after that that I first saw the plant in San Juan Bautista, and recognized it right away as the same rose

"Lady Mary Fitzwilliam" (??) (my found rose 1996 - my home was built in 1947 and it was growing in thick overgrowth) as compared to Mrs. Wakefield Christie Miller (from Vintage Gardens) My found rose and many LMF also look like photos of Hovyn de Tronchere but that rose is supposed to be fragrant and perhaps my nose is spoilt from all my fragrant Austins, but this rose is maybe a 2/10 in fragrance. Very light. Maryland, zone 7, May 28, 2020
