'Mary Pochin' rose References
Book (1936) Page(s) 569. Pochin, Mary (HP) Pochin 1881; bright lacquer-red, velvety crimson reflexes, medium size, double, fine form, broad smooth petals, fragrance 5/10, growth 6/10.
Book (1883) Page(s) 233. The Roses of 1882 .... Mary Pochin (hybrid perpetual, Cranston, bred by Pochin). I do not want to make a judgement on this english cultivar. I saw it in London, exhibited by Cranston, I liked it a lot, as it showed the type of A. K. Williams and was coloured brilliant crimson. In Trier the rose had faded meanwhile. The few blooms which I saw at Soupert in Luxemburg were barely medium size, very loose, but regularly filled; moderate growth, does not make the impression of a rose of Rank.
Book (1882) Page(s) 27. Mary Pochin... Variété à cultiver pour les Expositions de fleurs. Hybride Perpétuel. Pochin. 1881 Cramoisi intense. Fleur grande. Plante vigoureuse.
Magazine (1881) [Summary] MM Cranston & Cie announce the introduction in Autumn of a rose obtained by Reverend E.V. Pochin under the name Mary Pochin.
