Deep pink Shrub.
Registration name: Assiniboine

Bred by Henry H. Marshall (Canada, 1954).
Introduced in Canada by Agriculture Canada, Morden, Manitoba in circa 1962 as 'Assiniboine'.

Hybrid Suffulta, Shrub.  

Deep pink to red, yellow stamens.  Mild fragrance.  10 to 12 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form.  Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.  

Bushy, suckers on its own roots.  Glossy foliage.  7 leaflets.  

Height: 3' to 4' (90 to 120cm).  

USDA zone 3a and warmer.  Very hardy.  produces decorative hips.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to disease, susceptible to rust .

In September 1998, the Montreal Botanical Garden (Le Jardin Botanique de Montreal) carried out a survey of its roses' resistance to black spot, powdery mildew and rust. This is one of the outstanding varieties which showed a 0% to 5% infection rate. The data were taken on well-established roses.
