I see helpmefind has LFR as a zone 6b, yet I have seen it listed as zone 5. Does anyone have any clarification on this?

I recently bought one and I live in zone 4. Planning to overwinter in a pot in the garage. Some of us just like to zone push and see what we can get away with I guess.

Updating just for the record that my LFR is still alive. Not thriving, because it's been through some pretty awful treatment as regards neighbor dogs, but still growing in zone 4.

According to the rose label the breeder of 'The Mandalay Rose' is Earman (2006). Parentage is 'Prima Donna' x 'Touch of Class'. Not sure which 'Prima Donna'.
Maybe the same rose as WEKearman perhaps?

I purchased this rose as "& Let Freedom Ring" from a reputable nursery - Regan the very best in my area. It was purchased as an end of season filler at a great sale price to fill a vacancy in the red rose bed. This is a somewhat neglected bed behind the pool with native soil and minimal irigation. The previous occupant toppled from gopher nibbling so I wasn't expecting too much. Wow!!! This bush is beautiful. Disease resistant and spectacular off-red blooms. In a recent ARS show it was DQd for not being "& Let Freedom Ring". I was a bit defensive as it still had the tag. A knowledgable ARS member suggested it may be the sport Zach Nobles and after looking up Zach Nobles I agree this is a possibility. The color is more of an orangy/salmon red than a blue red. I will likely exhibit under the Zach Nobles name to not get DQd again. It is a beautiful rose!
If anyone has similar experience please contact me.

I liked both parents to this rose, but I really did not like growing this rose. I do not know why. It was just really un-inspiring. And TALL. Very tall and thin, like Prima Donna, but without the spark of the electric pink blooms.
