Speaking of John Starnes, does anyone know if his alba still grows anywhere?

I never heard whether anyone stepped in to try and rescue any of the genetics he created.
It happens a lot that things just disappear.
I remember going by the old Sequoia Nursery location which I knew for decades and couldn't even identify where it had been.

How very sad. The Brenda Mowery genetics are Alba Maxima x Alfred Colomb.

In some cases it takes a lifetime of experience and good luck to pull off some of these crosses.
Yes, very sad.
At least he proved it's a way forward for others should they choose..

Should this cultivar be added to the list of plants bred by John Starnes?

We do have it listed, but the listing of John's 11 roses is not ideally shown. I don't know why not and will point Admin in the direction of this post. The listing is showing those names below in bold: 2000 Lemon Zen 2003 Denny Arter JASdarter 2003 Four Inch Heels JASheels 2003 Brenda Mowery JASmow 2003 Gold Blush JASoblush 2003 Sweet Passion JASwee 2004 Fairmount Memory JASfair 2004 Ruby Voodoo JASru 2006 Conch Shell Climber 2006 Gainsville Garnet 2006 Sarasota Spice
