From Botanica's Roses (1999) pg. 370: Flowers arranged in tight clusters large mossy buds, very full and double, can reach 3" across when fully open Fragrant rich cerise brushed and highlighted magenta and pink sturdy shrub w/stems well covered with purplish mossy stubble Dark green oval leaves Zones 5-10 Pernet, France 1877 Parentage Unknown
From DK books, "The American Rose Society Encyclopedia of Roses", (2003), pg. 238:
Perenet pere, France, 1877 Scent: Strong and sweet Once-blooming HxW: 4.9' x 3.3' Hardiness: Zone 5 Blooms are very full of petals, crimson at the center, then mid-pink at the edges. Flowers start cupped and eventually open out almost flat. Flowers can come singly but most often in clusters of up to 5. Khaki colored mossing on buds, sepals, receptacles, & flower stems Thin shiny leaves suggestive of China ancestry Petals reflex at edges also suggests China ancestry slender stems covered in red bristles when young lax growth habit, with flowers that can hang down among the leaves Growth habit is improved by careful pruning and training. Grows well in poor soil.
