When you search for a rose whose name has only two letters, i.e. Ty, the "best match" function can't get to the rose because it says it needs at least three letters to do a match. Fortunately, it got to the right rose when I used the "begins with" search function.

Yes, that's intentional because using just two letters on a "Best Match" can often result in a list of many thousands. That's not the way it should work if it finds a perfect match though - thanks for the heads up.

For roses with names of only two characters, you can search the name in single or double quotations to meet the three character minimum.

Thanks for that…I’ve run into this issue as well.

The quotation marks approach to finding a two letter rose name like “Ty” no longer works. Is there another trick to getting to that listing or any listing for a two letter rose name?

Just put a single quotation mark before the name. For example: ‘Ty or ‘Si

Good yellow minis are hard to come by. This one is my favorite deep yellow minis. In our clime the blooms largely come in lovely sprays. Great plant. Good exhibition form but blooms tend to move fast. Unlike some Robbie Tucker roses this one is mildew resistant. This mini greatly benefits from budding onto a vigorous rootstock. Makes a nice tree rose.

Hmm, maybe I should up the fertilizer next summer on Ty. I love that Ty - even in extreme heat - still takes its own sweet time opening from a bud.
