For quite a while Pat Dickson was the leading breeder in that colour before [McGredy] edged in with the scentless 'Olympiad' -- and then Reimer Kordes produced 'Loving Memory'. It's the favourite red for the show bench because of its beautiful form...

Red Cedar Not the best rose I have ever grown, but it does produce an occasional good flower. Colour tends to be rather lifeless. The plant dislikes hard pruning.

E. F. Allen, Awards To New Rose Seedlings In Great Britain In 1982.
'Loving Memory' - KORgund (seedling x seedling from 'Red Planet'). A large flowered (H.T.) rose from Kordes, which is called 'Burgund 81 in Germany. The crimson flowers are very strongly scented (8/10) and the buds, at times, are somewhat rounded. It is a fine vigorous rose, with fair rain resistance, but at times it seemed slow to repeat. Trial Ground Certificate.
