Baro Majlhénji Natalia (Geschwind) (r. arvensis): Fl. pourpre foncé violet, passant au gris de cendre, bord des pétales plus clair, grande, pleine, en coupe. Arb. vigoureuse, sarmenteuse. ''Sir du Président Lincoln' X 'Mme Lauriol de Barny'.

Hungarian roses of 1888 from Head forester Geschwind in Karpfen. Hybrid arvensis. Baró Majlhényi Natalia Souvenir du Président Lincoln + Mme. Lauriol de Barny, a variety of 'R. arvensis'. Nice foliage, few prickles, inflorescence of 1 to 3 blooms. Large, well double, flat cup form; magnificent dark purple-violet, passing to ash-grey, with lighter petal edges. Unattained colouring in this group. Vigorous; will be very suitable for pillars and pyramids. Requires covering in winter.

Something about new roses for 1888.
We have just received an excerpt of the catalogue of novelties of the company Gebrüder Schultheis, Steinfurth. ...gradually Austria-Hungary is also coming up with new roses, namely from Mr. Rudolf Geschwind in Karpfen, about whose climbers which were commercialized two years ago not much has become known to the public. This time it is:
Hybrid Arvensis.
1) Baro Majlhényi Natalia. Dark purple-violet colouring, passing to ash-grey.
...Gebr. Schultheis has taken on the sole distribturship for abovementioned varieties.
