I have been in touch with Fabien Ducher for a couple of years, and he told me that the parentage of this 2005 Bourbon rose, "Florence Ducher", was "Madame Isaac Periere" crossed with "Madame Ernest Calvat". I asked if I could post this info, as I had seen that it wasn't on the relevent page in the description, and I thought that it would be useful to know. I always find it frustrating when the breeder hasn't given the parentage of a rose, so I know it will be appreciated by others, especially as, in this instance, it is a brand new, 21st century old rose. This is along the lines of what I am trying to achieve myself (new "pure" old roses with no modern varieties and only originals pre 1900 ish), and so was of great interest to me. Apparently, it does produce some seed, but not much, and the seedlings are not yet of a good enough quality for Mons. Ducher to release or further his ideas. Hope this is of some use, and may I congratulate HMF on being such a wonderful resource for gardeners and horticulturalists.
